what kind of set up do you guys have in the front and back of your trucks? i want to get some ideas of what i want to do with my truck. pictures would be greatly appreciated. i just want to see what other people have done. thanks guys.

I think most people will tell you to go and sift through the build threads because there are a lot of pictures of Manny setups. Everyone has a torsion bag bracket setup in the front and when it comes to the rear there are people doing bag on axle, bag on bar and maybe 1 or 2 people with a cantilever designer or a custom single bag lift setup.

if you do a single bag setup i am going to shoot you in the face. haha

Here is a pic of my rear setup. I am going to have a new wishbone built this spring. I just don't love the final product on mine. It is straight and true though.

how did you get your bags to lift and drop so slow?

it depends on the size of air line and valves you use. also theres flow controls that can be used to slow the air down. if you do some digging around in the build threads you will come up with a BUNCH of pictures of different types of set-ups.

justin--- i have an idea in my head (not for my truck) to do a single bag catilever set-up but it would have two arms off the bag. one going to each side of the axle (maybe even on an irs rearend) that would be sweet looking.

Yeah, what Andrew said. I ran 1/4" line and 3/8" valves. I know a lot of people run larger and like the speed hops of fast air systems, but I wanted smooth control and less stress on my frame and suspension components. Not that others are wrong for wanting those faster systems, it is just not my style. I also was planning on getting pulled over for ride hieght infractions and figured the less obvious my truck moving up is the better. I have yet to be pulled over in it though. -Ed

yeah thats what i want to do. i'm not big fan of the faster systems. i mean they can be cool but its not really my thing. i think its cool when a you can push the button and your truck just floats to the ground.

so now my main questions is just how to mount the front bags. i've seen people make brackets off the frame or people put upper control arms in. which ones better? i just want to figure out with way will last longer and which way wont pinch the bags. i've seen a lot of trucks up near me that when their laid out the front bags rub and are pinched up against the frame and bolts from the ball joints. what can you do to avoid that?

when i did mine i used a piece of 3 in tubing as a spacer. figured out where the bag was going to sit on the lca raised it up and figured out where the upper plate was to go. to clear everything the lower will have to go over the lower ball joint by just a little. you will have tomake a spcaer to raise the lower plate up. when mine is laid out in the front nothing rubs.

thats kinda how i did mine. i have a re6 in the front of mine which is as big as you can go in the front without cutting in to the frame. You really have to be particular and detailed to get it in there and not rub. I had to space the outside of my lower bag plate up a little bit which hoverd the bag over top of the lower balljoint just a tad. You will want to buy the front torsion bag plates from a vendor and just have to cut it to fit.
