just wondering if anyone has or has used a set of steel chevy wheels on their truck?

friend of mine is bringin me a set off of his 95 4x4. they are steel 16in rally style wheels. just wondering what i need to do to make them fit. and im NOT grinding down the wheel tabs on the hubs.

can they be bored out like ya do with the aluminum rims? or is that not a good idea?

ofcourse the can be bored. obviously not as easliy as aluminum. why are you so away from NOT grinding your tabs? either way your messing with the integerty of the metal. been rolling ground hubs for years since 01 with no problems and its much easier and cheaper then having a rim bored. and if you haven't noticed yet. chevy wheels are the most common swap for these mazda's

There are hundreds of thousands of vehicles that have wheels that are not hub-centric. Every set of cragar s/s wheels is lugcentric, as well as every other rwd application for aftermarket wheels. the only time grinding tabs would be dangerous is if you didn't tighten your lugs, or never re-checked tightness.

ill think about grindin down the tabs....just not sure.....ya ive notcied chevy rims seem to be the rim of choice for swaps on mazdas...almost as common as titans on hb's now....which im thinkin about finding a set for the mazda as well...but i guess this will all depend if my buddy remembered to grab the wheels while he was up north
