so i have the chevy z71 rims on my truck and ive got them wrapped with hankook 225/55/16 rubber... im wanting to go smaller on my sidewalls... i know on the 16s the 55 series keeps my speedo pretty close to accurate... what profile tires do you have and how much is your speedo off by? just curious, tryin to decide what im gonna change to as my tires are nearing the point of replacement...

yeah but ive got the 2.6 and unlike the 89 2.2 i had, my 2.6 doesnt top out at 90... not sure what it tops out at as from about 108 on up the climb is slow... but i can get it up past a bill

Shit I'm 36 and can barely get it up ohh wait were talking about our trucks gettin up to speed.
Yea the fi 2600 scoots my buddys got a plain Janer work truck and it's got some power compared to my 2.0

I heard one time if u go down to a 50 series it's like 1 1/2 mph 45 series is 2-3 mph don't quote me thoe
I'm running 205/40/17 and when my speedo worked it was only off aproxx 4-5 mph

but thats on a 17... im wondering speed differences on a 16... 40 series on a 17 may be the same height tread wall as a 40 series on a 16... but the overall diameter of the tire will be different... on my stock 14s they were 195/75/r14 and now im on a 225/55/r16. overall tire diameter stayed just about the same even tho my profile changed... so i plus sized my rims, downsized my profile and kept the same speed... but i want to know how bad the difference is if i step down to a 45 or a 40 on the same rim. someone on here has to be rockin 40 series or 45 series on the 16in z71s and they might have a gps and could see the difference between what the truck says and what the gps says... so someone with 40 series on the 16s and 45 series on 16s speak up. perhaps being on 17s with 40 series that would be the equivalent of 70 series on a 14in rim?

just get whatever size tires you want and then borrow someones gps that tells you your speed and then adjust the speedo accordingly. its not that hard to do. thats what i gotta do with my truck. its about 3-5 mph off.

well i have a gps... i guess i kinda want to know pros/cons of 40 vs 45 vs 50 series... ride quality/tire wear stupid general info. i dont want to go spending 500 on one set to find out a different set would have been better...? im a little sick right now so my thoughts arent completely organized...
