I finally mono-leafed (with overload spring also) my truck and I love it now! No more "Stink-bug Stance". I drove it around after I took the leafs out and put some Doetsch Drop Shocks in and it is such a good feeling being that low... headlights from other cars are above my tailgate now! There aren't alot of lowered trucks in Utah, so I get alot of looks and rubber-necking. I also painted the stock wheels "Oil Rubbed Bronze" by Rustoleum, and love the look of the truck even more. Here's a few pics for you...

factory mono leaf is pretty dangerous. its not designed to handle all that flex and stress it will go through by itself, thats why they put all the other leafs with it. you can run it like the but id suggest putting back in the very bottom main leaf.

Good job. Taking the time to do-it your self. Cheers! But I must tell you I did this to my truck and the left side leaf snapped on me while going down the road. Be careful. Save your coin and do the drop right. Notch, link, and bag that girl. I know money is hard to come buy. Maybe find a Truck club in your area make friends and get the hook up on the mods. Good luck.

i was gonna say that is low! how much drop block you got in there?

my truck has the main and the small overload. that works fine, been like that since i got the truck, and i have loaded up the bed a few times. 2" blocks on mine... wish i could go lower, but i already bash axle enough... (getting c notches soon!)

i have one leaf removed and a 3" block, the axle smacks the frame once in a while, i want to go lower, and i will, im going to notch the frame and i have air shocks, im going to de-arch the spings to get lower

anywho, i ran mono leaf and 3" block for years in my gray truck, never broke anything, and it had a super shitty ride

I have the stock main leaf spring and the overload spring and 3 inch blocks in there...I have seen people on this sight and another Mazda sight that have run or are currently running this set-up with no problems or things breaking. I looked at the leafs to see if there was any signs of deterioration or cracks and didn't see anything to cause any concern. Eventualy it will be bagged, but for now I trust this set-up. I also have Doetsch drop shocks on the front and rear, so the ride is not that bad, definately not harsh. Anyway here are a couple of more pics...
Thanks for the reply's.
