Cando specialties sells tubular control arms that use toyota ball joints so you can bolt up a toyota spindle. Another way to do it is to modify the stock control arms to fit the toyota balljoints. Somebody did this, Ill see if i can find the project thread.

That shows a toyota swap done with stock arms.

there's three problems with the spindle swap no. 1 the stock mazda outer tie rod tapper and dia. is totally different so i emailed steve from can do and asked about the problem he said he has never heard of the problem and had no answer so i had adapters machined to connect the mazda inner to the toyota outer together no. 2 the mazda lower ball joint is a compression style ball joint and the toyota is a tension style so the mazda ball joint might have a big risk of coming apart i think i have away around this by using a screw in style ball joint with a adapter that will bolt in the stock holes in the lower control arm no. 3 i believe the ackerman angle changes which is a handling issue no.1 and 2 are safety issues so i dont know how this has been done and the process being done right

post any more info or opinions r welcome

i put the yota spindle on my mazda lower ball jounts and had no probs, rolled on it for 8 years, the tie rods will fit, you may have a bad one or the 2wds are smaller i had one that didnt fit ether so i got new ones(for a 4x4 mazda, not sure if there different but it seemed to work), and i had no probs runing the yota spindles, it made it were my truck could lay out and still have full steering, didnt have bump steer or anything
