Hey guys, I wanted to know if any of you guys had advise on where I can get air shocks? I want to bagg my truck, yet right now I dont have the cash for the whole set up. I also dont really have a place to build it. So can anyone give me options on where I can get some shocks. I know that 2lowforfatchicks has a set up and I like the way it sits till I bagg it. Thanks guys.

any local parts store will have them and usually in stock.

i got mine at autozone. they work pretty good... slow slow leak, but its tiny plastic air line, with rubber o rings and plastic screw end caps for the lines... mine probably arent tight enough... did it by hand, didnt want to strip the plastic threaded ends by going too tight with a wrench. ran me about $75 for the pair.

i also got my air shocks from autozone... even though i'm in canada...shhh! lol.

yeah they are about $75 for the pair. i think it's the same part # for mazda, izusu pick ups and a few more. they work great though. i havent really checked how well mine hold pressure, but i have aired them up to load up a few things. i'm running mono leaf setup also (main and overload). it's really easy to run the lines and install them if you pull your box off.

i have the mono leaf with the overload, and i just backed up on ramps and ran everything real easy including installing the shocks. ive been thinking of running new lines all the way up into cab cause it sucks having to stop to air them up if they are low. make the ride real nice.

yeah i suppose driving up on ramps wont be to bad either. i'm getting old though, and i like to look and reach down when working on vehicles as much as i can. i had the box off for other reasons too. i suppose it would be over kill to pull the box just to do shocks... lol

i guess i wouldnt be too tricky to run the 'fill point/valve' for the shocks somewhere really convenient. i dont remember how much line they give you, but i think it might be enough to hit the edge of the cab. i just have mine ziptied to an old exhaust hanger near the drivers wheelwell... depending what tires you have and hoe much wheelwell they take up, you could reach in there and fill fairly easily, i still end up reaching under though.

if you are talking about running a small compressor so you can fill it up on the fly, well that would be cool, but now you're making the simple system a lil more complicated. adding switches, wiring, a small tank maybe...

I thank all you guys for the advise. That sounds like a really good deal. I want to get low and this seems like a good way to do it for now. You guys are all awesome, really helpful and down to throw some ideas out there. Thank you guys again, would be lost without fellow truckers. I also need to ask, I found a nice set of Monroe air shocks. They say it wont fit my truck. I know there not for our rides, I just need to get the pairs that fit how mine are correct? Meaning I need the ones with a shaft in front and bushings in back? Then its just install and adjust. Thats how it seems to work to me. Let me know if Im off or wrong. Thanks.

the rear shocks have two 'eyes' for the bolt to go through. front shocks have one 'bolt' end u top, and an eye on the bottom. not sure if they make air shocks for the front. i dont think so though... they are generally used to enable you to carry more wight in the back of the truck.

Carry more weight, that is what the site say they are for. Just another thing we converted to do something cool with something not so cool. That is why custom guys rock, changing the world one vehicle at a time. Thank guys!!
