i contacted a shop about dearching my leaf springs because i'd feel safer knowing i still have all 4 springs rather than running a single+overload setup. the guy told me about $90 a side (so ~$180 total). that's with me dropping my whole truck off to him. is that about normal? i've never heard prices on this sort of thing so i'd hate to get totally milked.

I take mine out and just tell them to make them them totally flat ends up costing me 100 to do both sides but thats up here in Barrie ontario canada

I'd run the main & helper, before I dropped that much coin
MANY people have done this.

What are you looking to do? You have blocks now? and cranked torsions?
Post some pics of your truck

it's not that i'm worried about the leafs breaking/snapping, but i'd still like to haul my quad and whatever other small things. i feel like the mono leaf+overload setup would make it just way too soft for stuff like that.

i'm basically wanting close to no wheel gap, especially with the tire/wheel setup i've got sitting in my room waiting to go on. i figure another 2-3" would be ideal for the rear. right now i have 3" blocks in the rear and cranked torsions (8 full turns on each side). here's a pic the day i installed the blocks and whatever

edit: i know, my truck is hella ugly at the moment haha. it's a work in progress. grille is now gloss black, new bumper will be next, and i have black Cragar "D" Windows waiting to be put on once it's lower.
