well today was going good so far, until i pulled up to my house and as soon as i was parking by the curb, with a bunch of bushes from the front yard right there, my front passenger bag blew. so now my truck is stuck next to the curb, which just happens to be on the passenger side, so i have no work room to put a jack under, or an extra bag to use, so im basically screwed, because i just moved in, and dont have any of my tools, and have to work tomorrow morning at 8. so any advice on what to do to at least get the old bag out??? and this is on my 98 ranger.

can you put the jack in the front of the truck to get it up?? does your whole down and out of use? can you air it up by holding the switch just so you can make more room next to the curb? or possibly drag if not.. lol you sure the bag blew and not a line?? just making sure man.. sorry to hear, i had the same thing happen to me not to long ago.

Can you air up the other bags? If so air them all the way up. Insert jack and jack it high enough to wedge something under the frame on the side you blew the bag on. move jack to from driver side to front and jack from the front crossmember. This should allow enough access to remove wheel and check the bag out. Then you can change your bag or remove it and relace with a chunk of wood. I have an old 4x4 post for this about 10 inches long. Now you can move your truck, but don't drive on the wood for long.

Also, If you use a rolling floor jack on the front crossmember, you should be able to slide the front away from the curb.

Try pulling up on some chuncks of 2x4

Are you trying to move it to work on it easier? If so try airing up the front driver bag and the rear passenger and then throw as much heavy crap in the rear of the drivers side corner of the bed. I was able to do that on my burb but it was a rear bag, so it was already weight biased, but it might be worth a shot.

thanks for the help guys. luckily the ranger frames are kinda weird and my front end has been z'd up. so i was able to move it across the street to the other curb, and finally got it fixed on thursday afternoon.
