As the title says I have been comisioned to turn poo into gold. A friend of mine took his Mazda to a shop to get it bodied on 20's. After a few months of them blowing him off they packed up and left. He got his truck back in pieces. I mean completely trashed. He came to me and asked if I could put it back together, of course I can, right. Well now the fun begins. The dude is almost 4gs in the hole so there is no money for parts.

Ok with that all out of the way. The 4-link bars are all the same length and he wants a triangulated link. So, as bad as I hate to the top bars have to go on the pumpkin. HOW do you set the instant center, roll center and all that mess up that way. My first thought would be that the instant center would be the same.

Now another problem is the crap I was given to work with will not allow for an instant center around the front bumper. So would it be better not to have an instant or be closer to the axel. Also if the geometry of the link that I'm building is the same as the uppers the opposite way than the roll center is going to be really high

Any imput would be greatly appreciated I'm just trying to talk it out in my head
I also understand that on these trucks there is no reason to have the link perfect but. I want him to be able to drive

Oh yeah and the frame I am working on is an 89 b2200

Why cant you cut 2 of the link bars down to the length you need to make it work properly?

Use this program to help you set up the 4 link, its pretty simple to use. If you need any help with it let me know, Ill see if I can help you out.

This might help too if your unsure whats needed to use the program.

Thanks for the link and the reply in general. My dang Internet is down. I'm doing this from my phone and safari won't let me open the link

I would cut the bars and make them the right length but they are too short. Some one else has already welded a crossmember in and its in the wrong place. I can connect the bottom bars to it but barely. The crossmember is not even square. I would cut that crossmember out but he doesn't want me to. Plus that's just that much more work for me.

He's paying me with body work and spraying paint on my new squarebody suburban project. I buying the paint so I'm not buying parts for his too. We are just trading labor.
