Okay so I have got to the point on my build where it is time to look into buying shocks fro the front and rear of my 89 B2200. I got the frame bagged and laying on the pavement. Question, what size of shock should I use with my Grunion Custom shock relocation brackets such as length etc... Any help or suggestions please.

The best way is to measure the distance between your shock mounting points when the truck is all the way down. Then add 1/2 inch and that will be you fully compressed length (adding this 1/2 inch will keep you from bottoming out the shock when layed out something I have always done to keep from killing a shock). Then measure the same distance when the truck is at full lift. That will be your fully extended length. Now you my not find a shock that meets both those measurements exactly. So if that's the case get one that you will be as close to your measurements as possible but make sure it does meet you fully compressed length.

Now if you don't have any shock mounting points done yet. Find to points where you think your shock might mount and then measure those to points when the suspension is fully compressed and fully extended and find yourself a shock that fits those needs. That would be the way I would do it. Cause you can have more of a selection of shocks cause if you need to you can move you shock location.

Hope some of that makes sense. Maybe some one else will give there input.

Here is a link to a shock specifications page.
