I've got a 77 Rotary Pickup and looking for better brake and steering options. I've heard that the 86-87 front spindles and brakes swap in, but the 77 spindles have a huge offset to them that makes brake packaging tough. I'd like to find a similar spindle with less outboard offset. Does anyone have a good pic of a stock spindle from 86-87? I'm sure the year gap is bigger than that, but I'll start with what I know.

Additionally, the 77 rear axle has the outer bearing inside retainers that are piloted onto the housing - almost like they forgot to leave room for the outer bearings when designing the axle. Does anyone have pics or can they explain if the 86+ axle has the same features? This might allow me to reuse my rear disc setup but allow me to use an RX-7 diff with LSD.

There are a few guys with pre 80s models on here, can you post some pics of what you are talking about? It might help answer your questions.
