so i brought my truck in to get an alignment and i was told the camber, caster, and toe is all mangled. right now i have the front and back relatively level. i still want it to be lower in the front and back but all ive got left to do in the back is de-arch the springs. then id have to tweek the torsion bars again to get'r level. so do i want to wait and get that done before i do the alignment or should i get the alignment now so i dont eat up my tires and then when i do lower it all again go back and spend another $80 for another alignment? the back has 3" blocks and only two springs left in it with no bump stops. also do i want or need drop spindles for the front?

Depends on how long it will be before you plan on getting it dropped. If it's going to be a while...months/years, yeah go get it aligned. Weeks, it can wait.

if i lower the front now, get the alignment, and match the back with the front at a later date will i still need the second alignment? again do i need drop spindles? or at least index the torsion bars?

the purpose of the drop spindles is to keep the camber relatively close to factory spec while still dropping the front of the truck. is it necessary? not really. you can get away without them. if you keep up on rotating your tires you should be ok. the drop spindles will help with tire wear a little though. i would just hold off on the alignment until you drop the truck more because you'll just need another one after that anyways so why waste your money now. you may eat through your tires though so i would hurry up and just lower it to the height you want and get it done.

My camber looks about the same. I wonder why it's set up like that. My toe was straight jacked up though. I told them to fix my toe so I could track straight down the road.

Even if you're going lower do you want to eat your tires up? Most places have grace periods after an alignment or extended packages, something to keep in mind if you're going to be lowering it more. I have $200 in brand new front tires I'm not mounting until I KNOW I won't eat them up. They're too hard to get.

ya no doubt, my tires are just used anyways so im not too too worried about them but i mean its still $100 to get new ones so i dont wanna wreck them if i can help it. i think i am actually gonna leave it at the height it is and just get the front and back perfectly level when they do the alignment. im gonna leave it up because my roads around here are shit lol. other than that ive got one more stupid question... does it matter how low my truck is before i bag it?
charlesskelter   +1y
No. when you bag it, your type of bags, mounting points, etc will determine lift and drop. You can go straight from a 3" body lift to bagging it if you were so inclined.

nice lol ya im just not quite there on my build yet so i havent really done any reading or researching on the bagging aspect of things yet

ok what is the deciding lowering point to re-index the torsion bars?? if i want my fender to be just above the tire, pretty close to tucking, can someone tell me if im gonna absolutely need to re-index or not? or is it a decision im going to have to make depending on how close the anchor arm and bolt is to the ground?

its up to you on if you want to re-index or not but i would say yes re-index will be needed as my truck needed it when it was at that level
