hey guys, i need an answer fairly quick. Can i flip only my upper balljoint and leave the lower one as it was(stock). i did the torsion bars down as far as i can, and it put on some postive camber so im wondering if it will fix this?
i flipped my uppers a while back... didnt do anything but wear them out faster... your height will only change if you flip the lower... flipping the upper doesnt do anything to change the height, just moves the upper control arm like 1/16 of an in... flipping the lowers moves the position of the front wheel up in relation to the suspension about 3/4 of an inch giving you that much drop...
Ok thanks guys, I'm probally going to flip the bottom then too, I also want to get rid of the positive camber. Do I just remove some of the alignment shims?
When you drop it, it will get negative camber, and removing the uca shims will correct that, but still don't flip the upper bjs, just do the lowers. And if you add shims it will give more negative camber.
if your wanting to get rid of your pos camber. flip your lowers. and if you still have pos camber. add shims to your UCA cross shaft. that will give you more neg camber.
I know the difference between pos and neg camber. When you drop your truck it will give you negative camber. Pulling the uca shims will correct negative camber and put it closer to a 0 setting. If you have positive camber you might have another issue. I pulled all the shims mine had that was giving me negative camber after I dropped my truck and now have no camber, negative or positive. Just sayin
And if you are having trouble with positive camber go buy a shim kit and have fun
