Whats up guys, Im new on the board. First post! Ok so I bought an 87' B2000 ex cab that was allready lowered. The guy I bought it from said he reindexted the torsion bars up front and removed 2 leafs and 3 inch blocks! It rode pretty well when I got it but I noticed one of the front shocks was blown out and that side would rub every once and a while, so I thought new shocks were the answer. It had some ac delco's on it but I couldnt find a part # on them, so I did a little research to find the shortest shock I could, being a Monroe 37016 which was an inch shorter than the ac delco's that were on it! Now the ride is rougher than before but I don't rub fender anymore but I think that is because the shock actually raised the truck about a half inch! So finally my question is this, if I were to flip ball joints to lower it an inch and reindext one tooth to raise it up a little wouldnt in theory I have more shock travel and a better ride??? If so how much will reindexting one tooth raise it??? I know the monroe($30) prob wasn't the best choice but thats all I could afford for now, I'd like to get doetsch nitro's eventually! Trying to make the best of what I have for the time being! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Flip the ball joints and just tighten the torsion bolts a lil if you have the room. If not you will have to reindex to get the lift you need. You are indeed correct about that giving you more shock travel.
