Well now that i got my ride height where i want it, I'd like to improve the handling of this thing. I re indexed the T bars and I'm on a 4" block until i can get some leafs. What would be the best things to do to help it corner?

I have some ideas but would like any input before i just toss around my money lol.

Plans
1) 3" leafs to eliminate blocks (de arched 1")
2) Better shocks to replace the monroe ones i got
3) New swaybar bushings (dry rotted pretty good)
4) Eclade rims and low pros
5) Rear swaybar?

Questions are this.
1) Are coil overs a good option? (ditch the T bars) maybe even do then in the rear?
2) rear swaybar any that fit nicely?
3) what shocks for the rear? (using leafs will change the length required and I can use a site, but if anyone knows will save me time)

Thanks for your time

Bump! any input? I believe i read that MPV sway bar will work in the rear, so might have answered that one. But still looking for advice on whats worked the best

OK, I will jump in here. My B2200 handles pretty good. My setup is as follows: Tokico R/T shocks all around- u cant beat em IMO.Front and rear Belltech sway bars- also best around IMO.They come with replacement bushings for the front.I replaced upper and lower control arm bushings.Im also on 16 inch Centerlines with Falken Azeni tires. Truck is at stock ride height.Tried lowering it and it beat me to death.Current set up is firm but not harsh, and it corners with no body sway.Even my wife approves of the way it rides and handles-she actually drives it from time to time.Hope this helps.bj

I hope to have a good handling set up eventually. I researched the old pick up racing trucks. Mostly Nissan hardbody trucks. They all ran huge rear sway bars and super stiff front coils. Obviously B trucks have no coils so, if you're willing to do the work, coilovers should get you closer to your goal.
You are kind of blazing your own trail here. There are tons of better platforms to start with for good handling. Even for a truck, there are better chassis to start with. Something without a torsion bar suspension would be a better start!
That being said, I say F Yeah! Go for it! Try and research the old race trucks for some ideas. The class was Improved Touring Trucks.

Didnt NYTRYDR put coilovers on his B--or was he going to and never got around to it? I think he still has the truck, might look up his build and see what he did. Also I believe Maz had an "A Spec Touring Kit" for Euro and Asian trucks if memory serves.Might look that up and see what it contained.bj

The main thing is i use to own and autoX so having this truck with the body roll it has is KILLING me lol. It scoots around fairly decent and lowering it helped some. I plan on keeping this truck a while so might as well make it something i enjoy more

Last question i have is will the B2200 sway bars fit on a b2600i? I believe the chassis is the same so I don't see why now.

As long as the 2600i is 2wd. I believe the 2600i 4wd had a bigger sway bar.bj

Yeah its 2wd, I'm going to start with new shocks and a rear sway bar for now I'm still pushing forwards on my hombre build so trying to split the extra money where its needed I know I've been looking for a set of 16" rims and tires as well lol

My setup:

- 4WD front torsion bars

- Belltech swaybars

- Bilstein shocks (fronts for '02 Xterra, rears for '98 T100)

- Dearched leafs and 2" blocks (my old truck had a leaf added in, I may do this)

- DJM control arms

Lowered about 6" front, 5.5" rear - truck handles better than the HP can provide for...

For front coilovers you'll need to beef up, put in new, shock mounts. That's for coilovers to replace the torsions. What I've thought about is getting some QA1 coil overs and figuring out a good spring rate to run WITH the torsions in place. That way I don't think I'd need to beef up the mounts because you aren't depending on the coil overs to carry the weight of the truck. The hard part is fitting as coil over through the stock arms, I don't know if it can be done. The QA1's are pretty thin in diameter so it may be possible.

Add a front sway bar first I'd say before doing a rear one.

I'd still like to do some of this to mine one of these days. Got more ideas than money I do have the thicker Sway-a-Way torsions which definitely make a difference. Running Doestche Tech front shocks an air shocks int he rear, monoleafed on 3" blocks.
