dropped spindle question.

Let me start off by saying i really appreciate all the help i get from you guys always very helpful. OK let me get to my latest question, i recently received a pair of dropped spindles for my B Day, and i was wondering if i install the new lower ball joint on top or under the lower A arm (lower control arm). the other question i have do i have to run a shorter shock?
