So i will be installing a sway bar on my 89 and i started thinking of when to weld the brackets on for the bushings. Would i want to lift the rear end to get the weight off of it then mark to weld? Or would i want to keep the weight of the truck on it then mark to weld?
I figured leave it on the ground? but i wanted some experienced help cause the axle does move alittle in suspension articulation.

When the truck is at ride height, the sway bar arms(the part that attaches to the end link bushings) should be level.

Okay so it dosent matter if i do it on the ground or lifted. Just as long as its level?

Yes.
Be cautious... Tack weld, then check before final welding.
