Well I started sanding my truck, and that body stripe is a bitch to take off.

I have an abrasive paint/rust remove wheel for my drill, but I can only get about 6" down the body before it wears the battery out,but the wheel rips the decal right off no problem. However, are there any other recommend ways, other than a heat gun and razor blade to take this thing off? It took me over an hour with the drill to get the stripe just off the driver's side of the bed!

I used a Razor blade and some heat for my stock "Mazda" sticker thats used to be on the tailgate. worked great

yeah,I was going to do that, but try doing that for the stripe down BOTH sides of the body. You'll easily spend a weekend doing just that!

lighter fluid or, some stuff called goof off made by gunk, you can get it at any hardware store, put it on a rag wipe it on the decal, and use a razor blade...took me & a buddy @ 4 hours to do the whole truck, but that was when it was new, and the decal wasn't baked on by the sun for 10 years.

there are these things you can buy at a paint supply store that goes in a drill its a big eraser wheel its designed to take off the decals without damaging paint. its an eraser just like the one on a pencil only huge they work great I just can't think of what it is technically called. Just tell them you want a decal eraser they will know what you want

I will second the pressure washer technique. I took my se-5 stripe off of my reg cab with one. - Just watch for repaired areas - stripes may have been cleared over. I learned this the hard way..
took the clear off the bedside the width of the stripe.
Also a heat gun and some patience works very well. then go over the remaining glue with solvent or adhesive remover. I find if you add a razor blade to the equation that it leaves too many gouges in the paint to be feathered and/or filled.

i gouged the crap out of my cab tryin to take my stripes off with a razor blade and it still left a bunch of adhesive on my truck

You need the eraser wheel like Brandon said. Those things are the shit. Just dont let it spin in one area for to long because it will build up heat and burn through the paint. There will still be some adhesive left on the truck, so take a rag and soak it with thinner, then the adhesive will wipe right off.

I solved my own problem,lol...electric drill. The abrasive wheel I have is perfect, because I am also sanding the body because I'm repainting the truck, but all your suggestions are good too!

I actually haven't heard of the eraser wheel deely.
