I've had some thoughts on whether or not to shave the back cab side windows. But I cannot even begin to think what it would look like. Cause if I did it, and it looked ugly, I would be screwed!

I would like to shave them, so I don't have to worry about them getting broke out. My sub box will be in the back of the cab and to deter people, I would have to tint the windows. Which is a waste IMO. If I wanna vent the compressed air from my subs, I'll roll down my door windows.

Just wondering if anyone has done it to their truck and also how you went about accomplishing it. Because I know there has to be some structural support, and I assume you would have to fiberglass the interior panels....

I have actually seen a few trucks with the back window shaved. It looks good on some trucks, but others look kind of weird, i think its all about the color and if you put a design to break up the big space where the window was. All you need to do is skin where the window was, your not cutting out the supports so you shouldnt have to worry about that. about the interior, thats up to your syle, I would fiberglass it, but you could always wrap the walls too.

i've seen a couple done up, with a big wall of speaks, they turned out nice....only drawback is that you have one heck of a blindspot....

I cannot believe I never thought about just editing a picture for an idea...

I think I'm going to go ahead and do it when I get the chance... I won't have any problems as far as blind spots. I'm not going to have a canopy, or shave out the rear window. Just the sides. That should'nt be a blind spot problem at all...

I saw it done on an 80s S10 in a magazine. Looked like crap imo. If you want to shave your windows, buy a std cab. A lot less work. lol. If you're worried about your ext cab windows being broken into by someone,or shattering them from the bass, you're completely overlooking the huge rear window which would be a lot easier to break into and alot easier to break from huge amounts of air pressure. Personally,I wouldn't do it. If you do,get a lexan window for the back or something,or have some lexan ext cab windows made. It will be a big blindspot too,it'll be like driving a big panel van.

i would def say to do it. it will help set ur truck apart and plus give you better sound quality inside the cab. plus like u said, those are pretty easy to break into, but then again is any window.

Well, this idea is not happening anytime soon! I would say in about 6 months? I have to wait to go back to skill so I can do it in my auto body class... But I may not even get to do it because my teacher may not be all for the idea... I would'nt see why he would'nt let me but you never know!

Like I state, to some people it looks like crap, and to others its just more brownie points. I would rather have an ext. cab because then I can keep a giant sub box in the back of it! I overlook the idea of the other 4 windows, yes. But, only the back window would give you the best angle at seeing the top of the box... And since the amps are on top, alot of people would not mind taking the chance at my truck. But the moment you get into the back of that bed, your toast! I would definitely think my tilt sensors would set the alarm off. Hell, even if they somehow got on my truck and got the box unbolted, the moment they took it out, the tilt sensors would know.

I just also want a more low profile look? I just like how it kinda conceals my personal valuables...

And what the heck are lexan windows?

AND MARK! That is such a tight truck! And it definitely shows how good a shaved cab window looks!

Is it yours?

And I have yet to see this on a mazda truck! So I'm excited to definitely have a unique truck!
