ok i'll tell you guys all the symptoms,

when i switch my lights on my brake lights stay on constant. they dont dim to taillights like they should.

but when the lights are switched off, like during the day, the taillights work fine....

what could this be....

i've checked my grounds, i've checked my light bulbs.....

could the light bulbs be in the socket backwards???

dont know i just dont want chancing a ticket at nite....

It sounds like the bulbs are in backwards. Take the socket out of the tail light housing and see which filament lights up when you turn your headlights on. The smaller should be lighting up. If the bigger one is then you know it's in backwards.

Check the bulbs first...did you recently just change them?

Do you have trailer lights on the truck? I've had one that did problems like that when the wires wore out and were touching.
