Caddy Lights

I was thinking about doing a caddy light taillight conversion. I like them a lot, but they seem very common on mini trucks around here. So what I figured is, I can throw on the caddy lights and instead of doing it regular, throw in the LED's like the new style lights.

That way, I'd keep the simple style of lights but I'd have the bright ass LED lighting.

I just want to know how other people felt about how this would look and I was wondering if anyone else has done this? (I hope not)

I dont know where you live but down here in florida the cops no likey the LED's I got popped for them and my friend also got popped for them the cops said they dont reflect and that they are not DOT approved

you can get the caddy lights with the led's or if you are talking about getting the led's and turning them sideways....that looks sweet, and i haven't seen very many trucks like that yet. just a few.

that's stupid with the LEDs,because they come stock on so many production vehicles now...however,their lenses do have reflectors built in,unlike the aftermarket LED strips and stuff all the custom guys use.

I live in VA. I don't see why officers would give me any problems.


I was talking about getting the vertical caddy lights and putting in a bunch of LEDS in them just like the new big caddy lights are on the Devills.

i believe that you can get them with the led's installed. a friend of mine has a bagged silverado with led caddys. i will see if i can get a pic, but it may be a little while.

tails molded in from a new Deville or SRX or something would be sweeeeeeeeeet.

you know what else would be neat,you could use it as a 3rd brake light or something,is the long LED strip on the older 95ish Caddy STS on the trunk....mount it in your tailgate or something...that would be neat. Vertical caddy LEDs for your tails,then the STS horizontal LED 3rd brake light in the top of your gate above the handle.

avs already makes a basi version of the caddy led light....I can make them from stock pieces with clear lenses, and led's as well...or I can also make led boards with multiplie colour leds, and lenses cnc milled up for ya...if you truly want something different...

I'm just going to go the played out route with the euro tails,but I haven't seen anyone with the smoked ones,and since my truck is going to be black or charcoal,they'll blend in better and not look tacky like the 'carbon fibre' ones or stick out like the chrome clears.

hey, I happen to like my cheap carbon fiber taillights, although my truck is charcoal so they blend in well. They'll do fine till I shave them and put something else there.

I am still trying to figure out something original for tails.
