Okay so I found a 4X4 Bed that is on an Ext. Cab! I want to swap it onto my Std. Cab.

WILL THIS WORK?

I thought only Ext. Cab beds fit on Ext. Cabs and Std. Cab beds only fit on Std. Cabs!

If this is true is there any way to MAKE IT WORK??

I need all the info I can get PLEASE!

Thanks!

if you cut the rear of your frame and moved the axle foreward it would work. I am thinking of putting the bed from my standard cab 4x4 onto my 2wd ext cab. I am going to have to cut out the front of the bed to make it fit.

So for me to put an Ext. Cab 4WD Bed on my Std. Cab 2WD Frame I will def. need to do frame work?

In conlusion, if I want a 4WD Bed I need to find one on a Standard Cab 4X4?

What the hell, I just want a 4X4 Bed!

Please help me get a direct answer to the above questions!

Thanks!

WAIT! Check out this link:

Bagged89Mazda states: "The extended cab IS however built on a standard cab frame . only difference is that there is a extended cab on the frame."

So, if I want to put a 4X4 Bed off an Ext. Cab onto my 2WD Std. Cab it will work! Because they are both built on the same frame, just have different the Ext. Cab and not Std. Cab!

Again, I want to put a 4X4 Bed off of an Extended Cab Mazda onto my Standard Cab Mazda.....both short boxes keep in mind....It will mount right up and the wheel tubs will be in the same location as they were from the 2WD Bed?

This is confusing, ppl saying it will work and ppl saying no too!

ok listen up this is what you wont to know right here

Mazda made 2 count them 2 frames one for Std cab reg bed and one for the Ex cab and Std cab LONG bed. The Std Cab LONG bed and the EX Cab use the same frame THAT IS IT.

Now that that is done Mazda made 3 beds (not including 4x4) one for the std cab short bed. one for the EX cab and one for the std cab LONG bed (they made 4x4 for the first 2) None of them will bolt to the other WITHOUT frame work and moving the rear end.

Now if you have a std cab short box truck and DO NOT wont to do frame work then get a short box 4x4 bed. If you DO wont to do frame work and move the rear end then get what ever bed you can find. Short and skinny No a EX cab bed WILL not fit on a std cab short box. Hope that helps

now hes right but they did make 4x4 long beds there just very rare anyway you can also if you do not want to cut the frame or move the axle theres another way to do it, cut the wheel wells out of each bed and re weld the 2wd on the 4x4 and the 4x4 on the std cab bed on your truck, then you have a 4x4 bed on your truck and a 2wd ext cab bed you can sell, i dont know if this makes any sense but i can try to explain it more if need be, just let me know.......

YOU ARE THE MAN PONT! I FINALLY GOT THE ANSWER I WANTED. So, I am NOT wanting to do any type of frame work...right now at least....and I would rather keep searching for a STD. CAB 4X4 BED!

Thanks guys for all you help and sorry to be such a pain in the rear, its just that nobody had a direct answer!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS
