I guess you could get just the kit that uses no remote just push buttom and just palce them some were inconcpicious.

Get a magnetic switch that they use in home alarm systems around windows or doors. Mount it under the sheet metal somewhere and have it power a relay to open the door when you run the magnet over that area. Works pretty good and hides easily.

are ypu talking about the switch that would go above doors and on windows. and who makes a kit with no remote.

I have used this sam system before! It works good! The only problem with the way you want to set up your doors is that as soon as someone watches you open your door via magnet or emergency pull latch they can do the same thing!

It would suck to have your truck stolen or vandalized because someone opened your door with there magnetic keychain!

Its up to you man, but I would REALYY ADVISE you to use a standard Shaved Handle Kit! You could get a good quality kit for as little as $100! It will be well worth it and usually you can add an alarm or keyless entry!

Whatever you do I hope it works out for you!

Does a shaved handle kit have some kind of manual way to open the doors in case of a dead battery

Yep, but you have to make sure the kit you are getting has one!

I dont know if this kit has one, but if you want shaved handles this would do fine:

I have an Autoloc kit, and I have to say that it was definitely worth the price! I had to fab a emergency pull cable for my doors! It was SUPER easy!

go to your local hardware store, spend like 5 bucks on garage door cable and clamps. it is pretty easy. i don't have poppers on my 89 yet, i was waiting to suicide the doors first. but you can run this setup for emergencies. just hook it up to the latch and run it out the front of the door, behind the fender.

Yep, I use a trunk release lever off of a cavalier from the junkyard! And I had some brake cable laying around off my bike, so I clamped it up and ran the cable outside behind the fender and mounted it! Works GREAT! Just like a real trunk release!
