Hey everyone. I just got back from the states with a few people for some red lobster and some buying of shit. lol. I picked up a KYO wiring harness on the way back for my raybrigs (sent awhile ago..never ended up pickin it up lol)

The one thing i've learned with all the headlight monkeying around i've done is that these tinted lenses you see such as the Silverstars, Raybrigs, etc that give off the "blue" lighting really suck in certain conditions. Theyre awesome when its clear outside, but when theres an overcast or raining, you cant see shit with these.

I went to canadian tire today (our autozone/advance for the americans), and was in the powersports section when i had an idea. I decided i would pick up a set of H4 Bulbs that are for an ATV/Sled and put em in. They are 80/100w of ACTUAL wattage. (Upgraded harness, They'll be fine.) Now, the reason i emphasise "actual" is because when i had got my $100 raybrigs, I thought they would "actually" Draw 110/135w. Wrong, they only draw 55/60w...and the "output" is SUPPOSED to be 110/135w..naw. It usually will tell you the draw on the base of the bulb.

Anyway, these are about twice as bright as my raybrigs are, and they are not tinted..so when its shitty out, i'll still be able to see. I've spent 200 in just bulbs so far, and these are definately the keepers. They cost 14.99 a bulb, even cheaper than silverstars..and definately worth it. The brand is Kimpex, but im sure there are many other bulbs just like this out there.

Monday I'll be relay-ing my low and highbeams (Run a relay and fuse almost as if your installing auxillary lighting) and we'll see how much brighter they get <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Feel free to add your thoughts/opinions/setup if you think youve got these beat.

Clever man... Sometimes the simplest ideas end up working the best.

Are they H4 or H4H bulbs.....just outta curiosity. And you are right, most if not all tinted lense bulbs are only good for one type of driving situation....I prefer to run a clear bulb and have done the relays and bigger wiring on my daily H4 bulbed civic and it is awesome.....the realys and bigger wire acutally do make a difference....

yep theyre h4s, ive got a set of h4h's for my integra one pieces, but i dont think they would fit...do they? i thought they were of a different shape?

you should try out the snowmachine 80/100s man. a WORLD of difference.

are they legal though....;ike I really care ahahahahahah

haha man, that's a pretty sweet idea. I'll have to see how I like the H4s when they arrive, and then see about upgrades from there.

sounds cool, is this not like a permanent highbeam as your lowbeam?
pepehn   +1y
I don't think theyre legal.

For anyone that wants to know, stock is 55w, these are 80w. Even though its only a 25w difference in lowbeam, im sure its still illegal, but i mean as if a cops gonna pull out your bulb to check right? The thing thats gonna bother people is the 100w highbeam as compared to the stock 60...but highbeams are for when its just you on the road lol. Yes, you can switch through low/high just like stock.

If I could do it once, and once only..my headlight setup would be:

Bosch H4 Conversion (Or other) $100~
KYO Upgraded H4 Wire Harness $20
Kimpex 80w/100w (x2) $30
(2) Fuses, Wiring, Relays to relay lights $40~

$190..It may seem like alot, but the majority of the price comes from the Bosch's.

it IS a WORLD of differnce though. I just aimed my lights so they reach furthur and wider tonight. The lights have no problem lighting the whole road now. lol. I'll get some pictures as soon as i can.
Wiring upgrade:
