how is the extra coil hooked up
maztang (ryan)   +1y
just run a hot wire from the switch to the coil positive side and the negative goes to the control box, if i remember right. where did you get your kit from, it should have come with instructions. if it didn't i can try to find mine and post it up.

no i didnt buy one but i figured out how i am doing it i am going to buy a coil and thread a spark plug in and run a toggle switch so when i down shift i can just hit the toggle and flames are there

you have to shut off the main coil to the motor momentarely that way raw fuel pours out the exhaust, and that is where the flame comes from....great for your cat( if you have one and your o2 sensor too.

i have my instrutions if you cant find yours, but my kit is for duel exhaust

no i dont have to shut my main coil off when i down shift there will be gas going out

mines an auto, so i throw it in neutral, rev it up and hit the flame thrower. and yes it does wonders for the cat. so far i blew my cat up. haha. it is cracked in 3 places. oh well. i blew it up by throwing the flames and letting off of the gas while holding the button, it sucks the flames back into the pipe and gives a hella loud backfire. scares the shit out of people. haha.

i bet i dont have to worry bout that with mine cuz it will always be going out that y i am doing it this way

why not fab up a propane thrower out the tailpipe, easier on your motor and you only have to fill the propane bottle everyonce and a while, plus you could adjust the flame per how much pressure it is shoving out.

example:

Bed Cab
======= < exhuast pipe
^ ^
b a

a= propane outlet: weld a bung for the propane line to screw into your exhuast
b= spark plug: weld in a bung for the sparkplug to screw into.

when you push the button, it opens a valve allowing propane to go into the exhuast pipe, the exhuast pressure will push the propane out the tail pipe, the button also triggers the spark plug to spark, this ignites the propane that is flowing out of the tailpipe. when you let off of the button, it stops sparking and closes the valve. You do not have to rev your engine doing it this way with propane, at an idle, there is enough pressure to push the propane out, no more back firing, no more destroying your cat. You should be able to achieve a 5-7ft flame doing it this way too, depends on how large of valve you use.

The other cool thing about doing it this way is when you are driving down the road, instead of having to put it in neutral, rev the motor and push the button, you can just push the button while driving, and this doesnt wash out your cylinders with fuel either.

DISCLAIMER: I am not liable if you choose to do this with propane and blow yourself up, I am not telling you to do this. If you do this, it is your reponsibility to take care of anything. I am telling you this in a theory, I have not tested this, nor am I responsible for any damage that may come to doing this.

sorry bout that, just dont want some kid to go and try this and blow his truck up and come and sue me. I plan on doing this to my truck, you can go to your local propane shop and get a nice small sized tank also.
