buy the front end and start the mock up process!

how much of the front end do you want? if you want the front fenders, hood, grill, lights ect. You need to first buy the stuff, then cut out the part of the mazda fender you want to keep, cut the new ranger fender you just purchased and trim to fit the old mazda fenders, weld em on and that should take care of the fenders and grill since the grill kind of bolts mostly to the fenders, you may need to get a core support or build your own. next up would be the hood, if you can run the whole ranger hood, awesome, but you may need to cut the back half of the mazda hood and weld it to the front half of the ranger hood.

I know this is kind of general, but I will try and find a link to someones hardbody that did a frontier front end swap on, I know its not a mazda but it will give you a general idea of what has to be done.

i've been planning a newer ranger front swap for some time now. just waiting to afford the parts. how i'm planning to do it, it's going to be the whole ranger face, minus bumper, i'm going to run my explorer bumper.
buying a 4x4 hood, grille, headlights, marker lights, and maybe fenders, i might just make the sheetmetal to transform my stock fenders to the ranger sheetmetal, oh and you'll need to buy or make filler panels to go between the lights and bumper.
its such a tease, i have a 04 ranger, and my mazda, and i'm constantly trying to dismantle the ranger!!!

I dont know, way back when I had a pathfinder, I was going to swap the front over to a frontiers and on nissanminis.com there was a guy that had done it and emailed a bunch of pictures of the process, but he also had a whole paged on the build.

heh, it was awhile ago, about 2 or 3 email addresses ago, if I ever get my account back on nissanminis, I will search to see if I can find it, I am having problems with my password and account credentals on that site.

what I think would look better would be a front end swap from a current gen 2000?-'07 B-series,and that would keep you with the Mazda theme. I think the current B-series is probably one of the nicer looking compact trucks out there on the market, other than the new Nissans.

that is crazy - I had been thinking about the ranger front swap since last summer.. I was trolling the local wrecker and found a good front end with flares. got the wheels turnin.
