I have a 93 B2600i and an 86 B2000. The 86 has been parked for about 7 years now. The 93 was recently in a "not my fault" accident. The grill, bumper, core support, driver fender/inner fender, hood, and wiper cowl are gonners. I know the 86's parts will fit with the exception of the hood. Does anybody know how the core support is held in place on these trucks?? I am trying to figure out what I am in for if I intend to use the parts from the donor "86" incase they try to total my truck. I have swapped fenders before, the 86 has 4x4 fenders. I have a Chiltons' and Haynes' books and they dont show any exploded views that can help me. I am gonna need all the advice, suggestions, and help I can get if the "other driver's" insurance doesn't come thru for me... Thanks in advance PPL!! L8RS!

the 2600i & 2000's core supports are different, the 2600's opening for the rad & mounting is slightly larger.....as far as how to swap it, there is about 80 something spot welds that you will have to drill out, eastwood co. has a spot weld removal drill bit, it will cut the weld out, but still leave the metal behind to spot weld in your new support.....remove the bumper brackets, and will have to take loose the two front body mounts......i hit a deer with mine, sorta a "not my fault" accident too & it bent my core support just to the passenger side of the rad opening, not too bad, but enough so that it busted the rad, and my grill.....

here is a before, during & after pic from where i did mine. in the before, i had my new bumper mounted up temporarly, but it might give you a little idea....

Wow, I am glad you told me about the difference in the core supports. You said they were different, does that mean they wont work? How much can I expect to pay for a replacement. Also, in the second picture of the three that you posted, I noticed that what I assume to be the inner fenders are still there, how are those held on?? The one on the driver side needs to be replaced.

here's a link to a place to get one

i think i gave in the neighborhood of $200 shipped for mine.....

the b2200 one will work, but you'll have to modify how the radiator mounts to it, as the bolting locations are different because of the size difference in the radiators. that is about the only difference that i'm aware of.

your right, it's the inner fender, it is attached to the fire wall on one end, you will have to drill out the spot welds there too, and on the front, there is a body mount down on the lower portion of the front next to the frame, a bolt runs thru the solid mount, then there is a rubber bushing between it and the inner fender, and the bolt screws into the innerfender.

Its all spot welded in place And you can probably mod the 2000 rad support to work it just wont be a perfect replacement

^^^ do you mean on the bumper in the top pick?

it is a stillen urethane bumper cover / spoiler.....i have cut the sides down so that you can see the detail of the end caps, it was just too plain the way it was.

but it fit ok
nytrdr24   +1y
yeah, it fit just fine, it was just flat on the side, whereas i like the detail on the end caps.

i just cut the pieces off of the top that wrap around the turn signals, now it is flat all the way across the top of it ....that is the best way i can explain it w/o an actual picture. i still have to mould it on the sides to the endcaps, but all in do time.
