what kinda welder should i get, a 220V or 110V??? i want to be able to weld stuff like my notch and do body work on the same welder what one would you suggest??? or can i not get both.
you can do it with a 110, beval the edges on thick stuff but you are better off with something like the millermatic 175 or the new 180 also the new hobart 187 and the lincoln electric 175, those are all 220v
i would agree with novacancy
i'm a huge fan of the 220 welder. i won't waste the money on a 110, but then again, 110 is cheaper and for a once in a while weekend warrior it might work ok...
no i want to buy a good one the first time around so i don't have to buy 2 in the long run and spend more. so you guys would suggest a 220V for light and thick metal
i weld anywhere from 20g sheetmetal to 1/4" plate or heavier with a 220 lincoln welder with .035 wire everyday. i wouln't ever buy a smaller welder.
