So I'm body droppin my bed and the way im doing it is questionable. I'm not sure I'm doing it right so this is why im askin. I'm cuttin 2 3/4 out of the bed above the wheel wells. Then I'm reattaching it there. Is this good or am i doing it assbackwards. Let me know.

wow surprised nobody piped up to say something by now...
yeah you're doing right. you might want to section more out than the actual amount that your body dropping, so you can keep a solid bedfloor. you can make spacers out of tubing and get longer bolts, or if it's too late and your bedfloor's already cutup, than you are good with the actual amount.

so you think i should cut out a complete 3" then. I havent cut out the floor at all. why will i need longer bolts to hold the bed down. I havent changed the floor so i dont undlerstand why i will need longer bolts.

cut 3" and use body lift spacers... i think that'd work

yeah i guess 3" would work, but that'd be pointless. since your body dropping 2 3/4 inches that would only leave you an extra 1/4" of space under the bed to hide the notch and stuff. you'd still need to cut the bed out for the notch and differential. i assume your laying this truck out... yeah?
i was thinking more like 6" or possibly more. have the wheel tubs touch the top of the bed rail. weld it back in there. that way your tubs will stay intact, and your diff and notch will stay under the floor. it'll be shallow, but it won't be cutout.
you'll need longer bolts, because when you will have to use spacers to put the bed back up to the right height. ok,say you body dropped the cab 2 3/4 inches and the bed 6"... you'll need to make 8 spacers @ 3 1/4" long and your bolts will have to be that much longer than stock. what you might do is look around and find an assortment of long bolts available and kinda go off that... it'd suck to bodydrop your bed TOO much and not have bolts to bolt it back on.

I was trying not to cut the floor of my bed but I was lookin at my notches today, and I think theres no way around not cuttin a big hole in my floor. And taking a more educated look at my wheel wells I believe Im going to have to cut them out also. I think my 17's will rub when its laidout.

that's why i was saying to cut your bedside so your wheelwells are at the top of your bed. unless your notches are ungodly humongous, it should work out. and your 17's will deffinately clear the wheel wells if they are at the top of the bedrails.

Not quite at the top. I'd say i prolly have 11/2 to 2 inchs to the top. I still think im going to have to cut a hole for my notches.I got my notches from suicide doors. I guess i could cut them down, but I'm not sure how much.I definatly wanna lay out.

Well I'm almost done doin the second side of my bed. Now for another question. When I start doin my cab,I somewhat understand how to do it. But when it comes to the radiator support,I'm somewhat lost what do I need to do to make it happen.

cut the frame horns off and drop them down the same distance as the rest of the b/d (2.75) and weld er back up
