Getting ready to bd the mazda. Folded the pinch moldings under, the passenger side has a dent right were the pinch moldings come together, guess it bottomed out somewhere. Theres going to be a foot section that isnt going to lay with the rest of the rocker. Dont know if you will be able to tell when its bd. Thinking of builbing new rockers for both sides so it lays out flat. Anyone have tips or suggestion on building new rockers.

you will deffinately be able to tell. when we bd my truck we kinda sorta smashed the rocker with the floor jack and its very noticible when layed out.
as for advise on building new rockers, use some like 1x2 tubing and weld it to the bottom of the bpillar behind the door and weld it to the a-pillar infront of the door behind the fender. your rockers are very important to the structure of your cab. if you fuck up your rockers your doors will sag.

or on second thought, if your not bd past where your rockers are normally, 1x2 won't really work for you. if you have sheetmetal skills then you can build a new boxed rocker as closely as possible to the stock design. it's not too hard if you have a sheetmetal brake.

speedster93b, thanks for the info. My granddad has a brake that we use all the time. Is your truck bd past the rockers?

i made it up as i went along i had my metal shob brake a peice of 14ga on a 90degree angle...got out the sawzall and the welder and wet to town.. i cut the rocker like an inch or so below the flat spot under the door and used some heat and a hammer to knock it down to where i wantet it.. on the top i just rewelded all the spot welds as plug welds and then cut it down to match the door and layed a few more beads on the seam.. this way you can body drop it a little more

SOUTHERNRAZED, thanks for the info. Did you let the 14 ga. run the lenght of the cab on the inside. I just bought a whole sheet of 14 ga. just for the rockers and the bd. Quess i just need to cut it up. Nothing that a welder cant weld back. Thanks for the pics.
