does anyone have a pic or can get me a pic of where you installed your door popper solenoid? i am finally trying to install my shaved door kit and can't for the life of me find a place to install the solenoid and still be able to roll the windows all the way down, other than on the bottom of the door. but i don't want it getting extremely wet. thanks.

that's where mine are, the bottom of the door, and they've got a spacer at the top so it clears the window. they get wet and rusty.... and don't work so well now. won't even pop the door without 'convincing'

do you have any pics? i don't know what you mean by a spacer at the top... thanks for the reply though. how long have you had them installed before they got to where they didn't want to work?

Not sure how the 83 door latch is setup, but on my truck, I used the rod that originally went from the exterior handle, pointed it down instead of up, threaded the end of the rod and the interior of the solenoid I used, then connected them together. The solenoid is actually mounted to the door, directly below the door latch. I also had to remove 1 of the return springs within the latch mechinism for the solenoid to work. As far a length of service, have been using the same solenoids for 8-9 years. Truck is garaged so that might have something to do with it. Might be able to get photos if you think it might work for yours.

yeah man, if you can post up some pics that would be great. i am haveing a hard time trying to find a place other than on the bottom of the inside of the door. by the way this is for the 89 not the 83. the 83's are already installed. i am getting tired of pulling the cable to open the door on the 89. kinda sucks. plus i gotta get it inspected.

hey slammed if you can get some pics up i would appreciate it. but they will go right there where immortal said. i didn't even notice the space back there before. that is most likely where they will go. thanks again.
