my friend came over to help me work on my truck and i told him he could help me out by takin off the a/c components that i didnt need nemore. he did a good job untill it was time to put the support bar back in that goes from the bottom of the core support to the hood latch. he broke one of the bolts on the bottom of the bracket and he also broke the one on the top

how can i fix this? i can get a wrench on the top bolt but i cant turn it at all. and i have no idea what to do about the bottom one

Drill the top one out is the only thing I can think of and for the bottom take it all back off and grind down till smooth and weld a bolt with the head off and put it back together.or use heat on the bolt you can still grab a hold of and use lots of crown rust control penatrating oil it will help alot.

This is what frustrates me most about mazdas. The bolts/studs breaking off. my 1st mazda, damn near everyone broke off. lol.

Well, it really is simple... If you don't encounter a rusted bolt, your chances are great. When you come across one that is basically welded in because of rusting you pretty much are screwed. That takes drilling and retapping and whatnot...

I SUGGEST you invest $12 and go to an auto parts store and buy an EZ out kit! It is VERY invaluable! I dunno how many times I've had something break and not have a way of getting them out...

Just get a small drill bit and drill a hole in the center of the bolt as best as you can. Use some dw-40. Then put an EZ out bit into the drill and drill the bolt out! It really is just like a drill bit but, reversed. When you use this, just go SLOW. Use the torque of the drill, not speed.

Can I have a cookie?
