Regular/Ext Cab Box Sizes

Ok, I need to know for sure what different box sizes come on the trucks. I have a regular cab short box and I am looking to put a cap on it. The cap is from an extended cab short box, will it fit??? Roughly measuring mine the box is 60" wide by 76" long (at the top, outter box rails where the cap would sit). The cap is over 8 hours away or I would just measure the cap. If someone could measeure an extended cab short box and tell me the size. Any help would be great. Thanks.

i just went and mesured my ex cab box its exactly 74 !/2 by 60

Other way around. Its going to be short. Do me a favor and take your tape measure and hang the one end over the back of the box (between the cab and box). Now what it the measurement form there to the start of the tailgate? I'm getting 75". Any more measurement that I can use would be great.Thanks again.

i mesured 76 but take into account the back window of your truck stcks out about a half inch as well as the one on the shell...so add another inch

i got the same thing i got 74 1/2 by 60....... i still think i should work tho cuase you have a like 1 and somthing hangover on the track on those things.. but it could work.....

Is that the outside dimensions? I know that the boxes are 60" wide from outter bed rail to outter bed rail but is the 74 1/2" your getting from the outter tailgate to the outter part of the bed behind the cab? or is it the inner. Thanks again.

76 was from under the window on the cab to the edge of the tail gate

Okay boys I have both style of boxes and they are the same so if anyone thinks different come up and see as they are 76 by 61 so the cap will work.
