how to shorten

i got a chance to get a complete 4x4 reg cab for parts and i need to know how much i would have to shorten the bed to make it work on my cab plus

measure your bed from the center of the wheel well opening to the front of the bed, and from the center again to the tailgate...then do the same with the 4x4 bed, and w/e the difference is, that is how much you'll have to adjust it, or you could just relocate the axle, and move the bed mounts and use the 4x4 bed on your truck w/o cutting it up.

I think it only has to be shortened like an inch or so. Dont take my word for it though. Best way to do it is measure it.

i may be wrong but an ext. cab bed and a reg. cab bed are the same length its the wheel wells that have to be moved. i think its nine inches to be exact but dont hold me to that.

i just done mine and it yas 9 inches off the front 13 if you weld the end cap back on but let me check on it and i will get back wit you
