scuff them with gray scothbrite really well. make sure to get in the nooks and crannies real good. wipe them down with some wax and grease remover. if you want use some adhesion promoter, sparingly! to much causes fisheye. then go ahead and paint them. just dust the paint on in light coats so it doesnt look like ass when ur done. duplicolor has some great wheel paint that comes in silver, charcol and bronze. hope this helps.

yeah that dupli color works real good just make sure you clear them before the paint completely dries cause i got busy and forgot about my center caps and when i did finally clear it, it wrinkled

hi heat silver ceramic works great.Prep as above, wipe down with lacquer thinner, couple of lite coats of metal primer with extra zinc to get the little nicks covered.Clear over this paint as well.BJ

What burnoutboy said is correct. Make sure you wipe the wheels down with prep sol before you scuff them, because you don't want to be rubbing any contaminents into your paint surface. Basecoat clearcoat is another option for painting your wheels. Many of your factory painted wheels are base coat clear coat. I've done several wheels this way, and they turn out nice and they last.

they will chip if painted over the long haul ..powder coat would be best

I've usef that Duplicolor paint and it's pretty good. I put a lot of miles on my wheels and only got a couple little stone chips on the insides of the spokes.

I scuffed my rims with some medium sandpaper and then primered them, then layed on several light coats of paint.
