Trying to hook up some license plate lights in the rear window. Hooked them into the headlight switch so they come on when you turn the lights on, but when you hit the brakes with the lights off they will come on. Also when you use the turn signal the lights will flash. So should the lights be hooked into somewhere else besides the headlight switch or is there messed up wiring somewhere. The taillights also do some pretty weird things like reverse light and turn signal flashing back and forth and reverse lights coming on when hitting the brakes. Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions on what to try to fix any of these problems?

I have some White LED License Plate lights too...they are in the plate box though, but I had the same problem...with the lights off they still came on when hitting the brakes...

So I bought these crazy load equalizersthings from Schuck's aka Checker or Kragen and they solved the problem...they are made for LED setups to take out the quick flash, or crazy problems...

Hope that made sense!?

Yup that makes perfect sense. Have to go find some of those, thanks dev.

Any thoughts on why the taillights do strange things? A ground problem perhaps?

They were $10 bucks I believe...

I can get some tomorrow and send them your way if you like?

I re-attached my ground and it got a helluva lot better

Should we go through and clean up all the grounds or should just cleaning up the one at the rear of the truck do it?

If u hook them up to the wire that controls the dash lite dimmer, they will not do the crazy stuff and u also can vary the intensity from bright to dim.BJ
