heres the situation:

I've got 2 beds, one bed i shaved the tails on, put a rollpan on, bodydropped it, etc, but i dont like how the rear section came out, but the rest of the bed is mint.

The second bed I have, the rear section is mint (no rust, no nothing), but the bed sides are really bad.

my question, has anyone succesfully taken the rear section of a bed and grafted it onto the another?

I wanted to have it grafted where Mazda actually has the bed sides connecting to the rear section of the bed.

If worst comes to worst I am going to just buy another clean bed and start from scratch.

i don't see why you couldn't do that.... alot of people have graphed 4x4 sides onto 2wd beds.... theres already a line to follow (cut) on both sides.....

I doubt it'd be very difficult... Hell, in Truckin this month, they shortened an old suburban like 13 inches or whatever. If you can do that, you can swp rear ends. And you'll be shavin those lines at the same time!!!

I haven't done the rear, but I did cut down my front with my sawsall. Take time to make sure your lines are perfect. I used a lazer level that troughs a nice line that I followed with masking tape so I could follow it with the saw
