No it's not real lead, it's called solder now a days. Yes I've used it, not on a mazda, but on newer vehicles. It takes practice and a pretty high skill level. I'm not very good at it, it takes me a while. Bondo is still bondo. Filling the gap with sheet metal would probably be the best way for him to do it. I didn't really think the gap was big enough to use a filler panel on. Unless you actually cut it off and shave it I think it's going to look like poo anyway(have to see one done that way to know).

i know, thats why i said you can't get the real lead in CA... there is still lead, and its better than the body solder. it kinda sucks imo, i'm not good either, but i've done it. i agree with the filled gutter lookin umm not so good. i want to shave mine and i don't want the door seals to leak so it needs something... so i'm thinking i'm just going to cut it down and kinda extend the roof so to say, but on the a pillar cut the gutter completely off, since the pillar kind of wraps over the door anyway.

It rains here so I think I'm keeping my gutters. It sucks when it's raining 2" an hour and you open your door and have a waterfall running down.
