I know someone here has had to do it at sometime!? ive got me a project truck for my daily, but i have alot of work to do first. what im looking at is a bad frame with a very good body and motor, and a very good frame with a rollover body. the nice thing about the rollo over body is that it has air, cruise and all the good stuff inside, less power windows. what i want to do is swap bodies and be able to use all the comforts. how hard will it be to change all these things over?

haha GREAT answer...

It wouldnt be too hard, all you would have to do is pull all the guts out of the rolled one and put em in the good cab and put the cab on the rolled frame... Jus rerunning alot of wiring harnesses

Its easy, just time consuming. I have the cab off mine right now. It is at the body shop while I finish the fab work on the frame.

the hardest part is gonna be getting all a/c crap swapped over (the stuff underdash) and re running it all other than that its pretty basic

where are the pics??....lol

You bought another one?I remember seeing pics of your vert crunched up in the front. Its a real PITA swapping cabs because the wiring the brakes and other little things have to be disconnect then reconnected.I hope you remember to hook everything back up.Are there engines in the trucks??You'll have to lift the cab pretty high to clear them.Good luck.Let us know how it goes.

i actually bought 2. the motors are in and good. i figured it would take time. just wanted to know how much was really involved.

Lift the cab really high, for what? In order to go over the motor? Why not just lift it off to the side? LOL!!!!!!! Disconnecting brakes and wires is really easy, so I wouldn't see that as a challenge. Like I said before, it is easy to do, just takes time. I have done my entire truck all by myself. That means no one was there to help me lift the bed of the truck off, or even the cab. An engine hoist and 4 tie straps are my new best friends. I don't even have to bother calling someone to come help me. I think if I were just swapping cabs it would be even easier. I have to go a couple weeks without mine, so hooking stuff back up will take a little longer because I will have to remember where everything went. If you are swapping them, you go do it in the same day. Go for it, and post up the pics.
