These mazda lock cylinders sure seem to suck.

i have a tricky drivers side door cylinder... get you some powdered graphite, should be able to get at automotive parts supply stores

Your going to have to take off you door panel, and start looking around to see if you can find your problem, luckily the locking mechanism on these trucks are fairly simple.

Mine would feel like the lock cylinder was binding up, but I pulled my door panel and put bearing grease on the 3ish connections and my lock is super smooth now.

my truck did the same thing once. when i bought it it had two keys, one square and the other circular. i always had the square one cause it looked better, but one day it stopped working and i had to enter through the passenger door. The circular key still works in the driver door though. I think they just get worn down.
Our door cylinders aren't that bad though, when the Mazda 3 came out, there was a problem where a person could pop the locked door open from the outside by punching a certain area on the door. But Mazda recalled the door locks.
