okay so the more i look at the truck the more i regret doing just the rollpan. i think i want to do the full skin. i dont really want to cut the rollpan back out but will if i absolutely have too. question is is do they make say an upper porsion of the skin without the rollpan piece combined? i know they sell tailgate skins but that isnt what i want i want an actual skin just without the rollpan on it. anybody know of them? maybe i can call up grant have them do one like that for me.

I have never seen one for purchase, but I know that Grant will be able to do that for you!

buy the combo and cut the roll pan off. the only thing that will SUCK ASS is the weld seam that will be in the middle under the tailgate and on top o the roll pan. you will sink it.. i'd cut the roll pan back off and install the full combo. it'll turn out cleaner for you.

dev's probably right they can make just a longer skin to meet up with the roll pan...

yeh thats one thing i was worried about. i can go slow and everything but i still think theres no way to keep it from sinking. plus ligning it up perfect is always gonna be fun as hell. lol

lining it up will be no problem as long as you get a quality piece to work with in the first place. slow is key, but you will still sink and warp it. thats the nature of the beast.

I would really weigh all the options though. . Do you ever open your gate? ? I had a full skin on my s10 and that woulda been the one thing i woulda changed if I could've done it over. . . . Thats why I'm keepin the gate on my Mazda. . I'm not a fan of full skins anymore. .

for sure depends on what your going to do with it. i welded mine up i never used it.

i agree with josh. it might be one of those times that you think itll be cool till you actually do it. then you might hate it. my first mazda i just HAD to have shaved door handles. once i had them, i hated them with a passion. i know now that i will never do that again.

lol! shaved handles only suck when your truck has been parked all winter while your bagging it and you have to jump start it to get inside, cause it's taken you up to that point to finally put a manual release in.

but on topic I also go back in forth between gate and skin having already done the pan, I just figure shaving the tails will be close enough
