tail gate skin?

anyone have or have used the grant tailgate skin? wondering how it fits/gets applied. thinking about going that route now. i have their roll pan but my gate is a little more worn out than what my buddy thinks i can straighten out.

Never used just the skin, but have used the Full Skin Combo....Grant Kustoms takes some time in there work and they have a great product!

Fitment was great, and overall a smooth install!

On a tailgate skin you remove the stock skin from the inner structure. once complete you lay the new skin on and work the corners around the edges of the inner structure. I am an authorized Grant Kustoms distributor and dealer as well if you are interested in ordering one.

come to think of it I think mini truckin did a tech article on a skin once, it may be online but I think it was a while back.

The point of a tailgate skin is to keep the tailgate functional....otherwise you would get a full skin.

But yes, you remove the stock skin from the inner structure and then replace it with the GK skin.

ok. ya i dont want the gate. i saw the gate skin on gk site and thought maybe that was what i wanted. i guess my question would be the same as justins when he was looking. everyone said call gk and they could bend one up. like him i already have the pan just need to take care of the upper part now.

im pretty sure you can just weld them in as well with out rolling the edges there is probably enough room but you may wana call and double check.
