After following the thread "rattle can paintjobs" I've decided to hire a pro, however he has a serious problem with Dupli-color & wants an extra $300 or so to paint things like exterior window trim(black),grill, etc.I can see his point it's very time consuming. So to keep costs down I'm going to do this stuff with rattle cans but was wondering, what brand has the longest durability,I'm using self etching primer(at his suggestion)experimented with the wiper arms but the satin black is slightly off from the window trim.Any suggestions?Thanx jpp

if you are painting it all, dont worry about what i looks like now... as far as how long certain stuff lasts... not sure, it should fade all together anyways,so it'll stay matching... i payed almost $20 a can when i got some base with clear spray bomb cans made up to finish up rear quarters on my last car... so that gets pretty expensive that way.

heres the stuff i recommend. lays great and gives it that satin finish. very durable and can paint on flexable surfaces.

I must say, I'm a big Duplicolor fan. Love their stuff and use it all the time. Hell, Kermit was complete Duplicolor rattlecan job. $150!

Have you looked into mar-hyde Black Satin Automotive Trim Coating?

I'll be honest, this is the best stuff I've worked with. It goes on super smooth (you don't even have to be a good painter to good great results ). Plus it dries to a gorgeous satin finish that will keep on lasting. It's a little expensive but it is by far better than rustoleum and looks better than duplicolor IMO. I bought it at my local car parts store.
