How do you get the wiper arms off? I've got the nut off on each wiper arm, but I can't budge them. I'm trying to get them off to fix a dent in my front valence (I think that is what it's called, the piece under the wipers in between the fenders).

That piece is the cowl. After the nut is off, the arms slide off. There probably a bit rusty, try spraying some pb blaster or something similar and let it sit for a few mins.

Ok, thanks. They do look a bit usty, but I didn't want to break them so I thought I'd ask the experts. Thanks again.

I tried some pb blaster and they are still stuck!

The hood needs to be down.

After you loosen the nut. . .DO NOT REMOVE IT.

Flip the arm up, away from the windshield. That removes the spring binding

Tap the nut a couple times with a hammer, while wiggling the arm of the wiper.

The arm is secured on a tapered shaft that has serrations on it. . .trying to twist it will chew up the serrations.

Once the arm pops loose, remove the nut.

Good info MazdaTweaker... I thought there had to be more to it than just one nut and pull. Thank you very much.
