what up peeps... just got my wheels back from the machine shop.. i wanted to hear from some of the guys that have done this swap..... got a few questions, ok well i have read in the past that i have to buy new lug nuts? which ones. 2 i went to a local tire store and they told me to go with 215/45/17. told me that is really close to stock overall diameter. so if any of u guys have this setup can u shoot me a pic? they tires looked good. but i know on the rim is gonna look diffrent.. finally ummmm the previous owner didnt really take care of the rims. and the corners are caked wit dirt and brake dust.. any suggestions? how to clean?

ok man, 1 ya you need to get some lugs that are biger around so it grabs and seats the rim,2 ya 215/45/17 is close to being the right size but going smaller or biger then that will not hurt things, just throw off your mph gauge a little 3 if you got the chrome rims good old soap and water to get most of it off then chrome cleaner, i fit the ones that look like mine your going to need a cleaner made for alum wheels,or just do like i do and use windix...lol

For the lug nuts you're going to want to use bulged conical seat lug nuts. M12x1.5RH thread of course.

For the tires I was running a 215/45/17 tire on my Denali rims, pretty much the GMC version of the Escalade wheel. Same size, they just look a little different. Here's a pic for you, maybe it will help you judge the look?

For the cleaner, like mazdaman said, chrome wheel cleaner if you have the chrome ones, or if you have the brushed aluminum wheels some aluminum cleaner, or a degreaser that's safe for use on aluminum.

And mazdaman? mph gauge? lol that's a good one.

yep it will throw it off, smaller will read faster biger will read slower, but must of the time you never know cuz its to close to tell, most of the time its only like 1 or 2 miles per hour off

I know about them reading wrong. My car is almost 20% off. It's really bad. I was just laughing at you calling it a mph gauge. Around these parts we call it a speedometer.

I also have 215/45s on mine.

some run a 205/40 (too small for me). you could also run a 215/40, 225/40, 225/45, etc

do you plan to lower the truck? if so, how much? these could all determine the tire size you choose

stock height

lowered

there are several posts on low static drops. just read through them. if you go as low as me, you will need to do some cutting front and rear

Hey Slammed, you got any pics of your notch on here, or elsewhere? I'm wanting to do mine asap just not sure what metal to use...what/where to get my pipe.

in my gallery
we used 1/4" thick, 4.5" diameter pipe, cut to 2" wide, then cut it in half to make the 2 "c" pieces
just try your local steel yard
they only charged me $5
