I'm pretty familiar with HID's and I've installed about 5 sets into my vehicles or friends. It's one of my favorite modifications to any car. I have had a lot of success using DDM Tuning sets.

I am posting this thread to get information on what is involved in adding HID's to the Mazda B series trucks. I see the headlights are sealed beam with a high/low beam from a single bulb.
Do I need to change out the whole headlamp casing, or just get a special bi-beam set?

Any information you can provide would be helpful.

you can buy a conversion kit to make these into hid's. the projector kits are on ebay and other places as well. the other way would be to do the 2001 ranger light conversion...

Do you mean putting a projector style housing into the existing casing? Do you have a link/picture of this?

Something like this?

yes thats them usually allows you to run an H3/9003 capsule.

yes those are the ones. if you want to spend a little more you can buy a xenon HID conversion kit as well like this one:

brighter lights and such.. am sure there are cheaper kits, this is just one for an idea.

spending the extra money for those projectors are useless, what they basicly did was strap a shotty magnifiying class in the housing, really doesnt do anything

ive got the regular H4 conversion kit with a set of 6000k low/high beam HID's, i couldnt be happier, and when the lights are off they look like regular headlights

this is simular to what i have

thats good they are just about the same price (cheap) as the 'projector' housings... which i might add, the magnifying glass came unglued (glue ran/dripped) in my black housing set. that was with regular bulbs... and maybe a week of use. hate to see what hid's would do to it!

Good call. Thank you for the information guys. I think I'll take midnightmike's advice and go with the H4 conversion with low/high HID's.
