the amp was an old Kenwood 823 70x2. lol I'm still using it now BUT it is on 3 8w6's. I'll see if I can find a pic of my old box with the 3 12's in it. and maybe some dimensions too.

Yea, totally down with the kicker 8's. If you never saw them you would never know they wern't 10's. If you do want to run a 10 or a 12 try pioneers slim series. They are only about 4" deep and fit perfectly behind a bech seat in a standard cab. They take alot more RMS to get going but they pound.

As far as cheap good new amps try MTX. For the new shit, they are the cheapest and the best in their price range. If you want used I'd try eBay for HIPhonics. One Zeus (from early/mid 90's) will destroy all newer amps in their class.

You can also try ebay for Image Dynamics. They are the best speakers that you can buy and for some reason they go for nothing on eBay. The horns are unreal.

hum i have been lookin at the pioneers. i like the looks of rthe well respected soundstream XS-10. but prob is each 10 handles 250rms...500max on each. in my book that aint very big but i think with the right amp it should be perdy nice, and i can get 2 for under 100. so yall think i should? and any suggestions on amps? i aint wntin 2 sell a lung for my amp eather but i want it 2 have pleanty of power

I wouldn't recomend Soundstream. We're a dealer for them and I really don't like their products. Last week I put 2 Soundstream 10's in an Escalade with a Soundstream Amp (don't rember wich one) and it hit likt 1 8" kicker solobaric. Definatly sucked for what the guy paid. Even made another box but still sounded like ass. But I will say that their products never come back. I don't rember 1 comming back for repair.

Yea, I work at a stereo shop. I do all the design and fab of custom installs. My area is more in the upholstry and building of the systems but it doesn't take long to get used to the components and whats good/what works.

Put it to you this way. In my daily driver (an 88 GMC fullsize) that I just got I wanted to put a good but dirt cheap system in it. This is what I run, where I got it, what it cost and if it was new or used.

Clarion DXZ745MP eBay $100 Used
Clarion APX640.2 Sub Amp eBay $85 Used
Clarion APA250 Amp eBay $50 New
Clarion EQH5100 eBay $25 New
MA Audio 1 Farad Digital Cap eBay $15 Used
Audiobahn AVDVD 1T DVD Player eBay $25 New
AudioBahn 7" TFT LCD Monitor Buy And Sell $60 New
Audiobahn 6.5"/4"/Tweeter Component Set Work $320 New
2 Audiobahn 10" DVC Subs Work $120 New

TOTAL $810

So it was $810 USD for a complete audio/video system that flexes the shit outta my roof. Heres a good site to check out products, their prices, specs, and what people think . If you want to keep the cost of the speakers down I would use Audiobahn and as for speakers, always buy new. Save and buy the amps used. Heres some examples of some cheap good amps that are up for auction:

Install of course is extra but I would build the box and wire it yourself and save a few bucks. If you have any questions heres some sights that might help:
