need help

alright. i hooked up my subs and amp. but i do not have ne power going into the subs and when the music from the cd player comes on the amp goes into protection mode. nebody have any kind of idea? im kinda stumped on this 1

sounds like you grounded your power wire somehow, make sure its not rubbed through to the metal where you came thru the fire wall, and make sure you didnt screw into it along the kick plates or somewhere else, try taking the amp out and hooking it up to the battery directly, if it doesnt go into protect you grounded out the power somehow
