i have a 83 mazda b2000 and i cant find the wiring harness for a headunit in any store i really dont want to hard wire it plus i really dont know how?

you can go to and it should tell you what all vehicles had the same harness as your truck in that year. it might make it easyer to find a harness in a store that way, if you share a harness with a more common vehicle.

hard wiring isn't that bad. i put a cd player in my 84 about 3 days ago. ran all new wiring.

yellow wire- constant hot
red wire- switched 12v
black- ground
blue-amp remote/power ant.
white-speaker
gray- "
green- "
purple- "
orange-illumination(not needed)

but all the old stock mazda wiring isnt color friendly like the new aftermarket decks...
slammed83 might know, hes the only other guy i know that has an early 80s mazda.

^as the man said any problems let me know i didnt wire my cd player into my ignition fact cause it was alot easier and alot less time consuming to just hard wire it.

only draw back is you ahve to constantly turn the cd player on by hand and turn it off by hand.

also are you trying to put the cd player in the stock location cause depends on how large the cd player is it wont fit only thing i found will fit in that whole is like an eq, but i just put the lil extra cubby whole and it looks great. no pics of the cubby hole but i have one of were my cd player went and the bracket we made for it.

sorry i thought i uploaded my good pic of it, but when i get home i will upload a better pic, but u get the general idea

Hey i got an 84 what are those seats out of?..another ? so yall are saying to run all new wires?? cause i tried to find the right wires and got lost cause mne came without a damn radio installed?
slammed83mazda   +1y
seats are from a sport trac there not being made anymore but im bout to get rid of them being im 5'11'' and wanting a 3" body drop=not good for head clearance.

I ran all new wires and its straight wired, theres no real advantage or disadvantage, i mean you will have to manually turn the radio on and off but its no big deal, but u can listen to your radio without the keys in the ignition.

I have to say the whole no radio thing is a pain in the ass. When i bought mine it came with a radio but no power. The guy said it never worked, I've just been to scared to hack into it, but im sure i'll end up hard wiring it.
