quick question, if i put my mids in the doors should i be putting insulation, like foam, around the back of the speaker or will it sound better if theres nothing behind it?

thanks,
ben

sounds better with nothing behind it. Foam will end up muffling the sound.

i wouldnt put foam behind it, i would buy a dynamat kit from best buy circuit city etc, get the one that has two 12x12 sheets, it should be about $20 then make a basket behind the speaker, it will sound much better enclosed and perform better as well, if you just leave a space behind it they will still sound good but by enclosing them you are giving them a tighter airspace that will make them sound better, when i used to install stereos i would always recomend that to people, hope what i explained makes sense, with the basket and all

if not let me know and i can try to make a make shift diagram for you
